  • Q I recently suffered a pulled hamstring. When can I resume my training?
  • A Soft tissue injuries - including strains of tendons and muscles including the hamstrings, calves, quadriceps and adductors - are the most common sporting injuries and are usually caused by an ineffective warm-up combined with insufficient flexibility. Any soft tissue injury should be assessed by a sports therapist, who will be able to gauge the severity of the injury and programme a safe return to previous training levels. Every injury is individual, and so it is important to remember that prior to resuming training the injured area needs to be more flexible and stronger than it was before the injury - or else a recurrence of the injury is extremely likely.
