  • Q I can't afford to join a gym, what can I do to keep fit?
  • A Modern gyms with every conceivable type of exercise equipment are excellent places to keep fit but if your budget doesn't stretch that far, there are still many cheaper ways to stay in shape. Exercise classes are relatively cheap and can provide you with a total body workout, usually offering a ‘pay-as-you-go' system. Walking, jogging, running and cycling are all inexpensive cardiovascular exercise activities and for toning and strengthening, you could buy a small set of dumbbells which when combined with bodyweight exercises, can provide an extremely challenging workout. Lastly, flexibility training needs no specialist equipment and costs nothing.
