  • Q Where can I leave my warm-up gear and car keys while I run?
  • A It's important to keep warm before you start your race, because otherwise you will set off with cold muscles which could result in injury - so you should ideally only get changed at the last moment. At very large races, the organisers will often have a baggage storage facility where you can leave your belongings in individually numbered bags, which will then be returned to you when you finish. Smaller races sometimes also offer a courtesy baggage storage facility; however, many races simply cannot cope with the volume of gear that they would need to store. So, why not link up with a few friends and store everyone's warm-up gear in one car? This way you'll all know where your gear is and the only thing you'll have to worry about will be the car keys. The driver can then either carry the keys in a zipped pocket while they run or hand them in at the baggage storage facility.
