  • A Chafing on the inner thigh area is a serious problem for many runners, and although a pre-race application of petroleum jelly can help, this can eventually wash away with sweat and the problem may recur. A better solution is simply to buy a pair of longer 'cycling-type' shorts to wear underneath your usual running shorts. Wearing this extra pair of shorts means that the only rubbing will be material on material, rather than skin on skin.
