  • Q How can I check my pace during the race?
  • A Pace judgement is key in any race, but it is particularly important in the London Marathon because you will be trying to utilise your energy stores as efficiently as possible - and that means running at an even pace. The best way to check your pace is to wear a stopwatch and check it at each mile marker on the course, adjusting your speed as necessary so that you match your goal pace. The mile markers are easy to identify as they feature large pillars and a spread of balloons across the road. Simply glance at your watch when you run through each one to do an instant check.
