  • Q As weather conditions can be variable in April, what should I wear?
  • A April weather can vary from bright, sunny days to showers and even snow, so it is important to have appropriate kit that covers every eventuality. The best solution is to wear whatever kit you would usually wear for your long training runs in similar conditions - so keep checking the weather forecast so that you know what to expect and can dress accordingly. Note that you will be lining up at Blackheath early on Sunday morning, when it is likely to be quite chilly. However, several hours on the road will take you through lunchtime, when you can expect the temperatures to climb - so a good trick is to wear your racing kit underneath an old t-shirt that you can take off once you are warmer. Just make sure that your official race number is visible (for example you could cut a hole in your old t-shirt) in order to gain entry into the starting line-up.
