  • A It is very important to eat breakfast on race day so that you toe the start line with a full fuel tank. Your breakfast should mainly contain complex carbohydrate which will provide slow release energy to sustain you over a long period of time - and good sources of this are porridge, toast and cereals. However, race day is not the time to experiment with different foods that you haven't eaten prior to your long training runs - so stick to what you usually eat at breakfast to avoid any stomach problems.
