  • A When your body is fighting an infection or illness, it needs all the help it can get - but exercise will place more demands on your body's systems and could actually make your condition worse. So, if you're under the weather for any reason, it is safest to abstain from exercise until you feel better. Remember: when you suffer from a bout of illness, you must seek medical advice from your doctor or health professional in order to determine if you are well enough to resume training.
