  • Q I’ve heard that half the battle in an event like this is being mentally tough. How true is this?
  • A It’s true that in events of this nature, the hard part is resisting the temptation to quit. You can train yourself physically for the big event, but nothing you will quite prepare you for how tired and uncomfortable you will feel at times during your challenge. Instead of focusing on the finish, which will at times feel like a long way off, just focus on each forthcoming obstacle and take them one at a time. This will make the event seem far more manageable.
