  • Q How do I get fit for an obstacle course event?
  • A Granted, sessions on the treadmill or in the gym will give you a head start before you tackle your event but, they can’t prepare you fully for the different challenges that an obstacle event can bring. Many events provide training plans that you can follow as you countdown to your event date. Bear in mind, you’ll be using muscles that you probably never even knew you had, so your training has to reflect that. The obstacles at these events are designed to challenge every part of your being, so strength on its own will only get you so far. You need to make sure that your agility and mental toughness are up to scratch too.
