  • Q How do you train for the swimming leg?
  • A The swimming leg is frequently the part that many people struggle with in triathlon. If you want to improve then follow properly structured sessions. A session should consist of a warm up, a prep set with some short faster swimming at target pace for your set, a bulky main set, and a cool down to keep you motivated. To become a good swimmer, frequency is key, even if it’s just a few kilometres to tick over every other day. If you want to get your swimming speed up then inevitably you actually need to swim faster. Work hard on your technique so you’re becoming as efficient in the water as possible but also get some hard and fast swim sets done.
