  • Q I’m a little worried about open water swimming. What happens if I get tired?
  • A Open water swimming can of course be a little scary as you can’t put your feet down! However, most open water events will have safety kayaks situated at different points, keeping track of swimmers and any difficulties they may be having. Motor boats with trained lifeguards and medical professionals are often on call for any problems or any needs. If you're just tired but don't need assistance, rolling onto your back is a good way to have a partial break. If you decide that you do need help, whilst on your back raise your arm and a safety team will be close by to come to your aid.
